La Playa Hotel

"Cannot say enough good things about La Playa. It’s a splurge, but worth it! All staff and employees were very helpful. The front desk always had the answers and assisted with recommendations, scheduling, etc. The location was perfect. Close to the shops and just up the hill from the beach. The grounds are immaculate and beautiful. The amenities were incredible and well worth the fee. The Champagne Breakfast was amazing with several options and a waffle/omelette bar. The afternoon cocktails/sangria was a treat each day. The nightly cookies were chef’s kiss at the end of the day. The rooms were clean and spacious with nice tiles bathrooms and a luxurious in room bar. This is THE place to stay in’ Carmel!"

"My wife and I spent two nights at La Playa Hotel in Carmel, and it delivered a truly refined, high-end experience. The property has been beautifully restored, preserving its classic glamour while offering modern comfort. The atmosphere is calm, elegant, and intentionally designed for privacy and relaxation. Steps from the Carmel shoreline, the hotel is surrounded by immaculate gardens and a pristine pool that feels so cool in a sunny day. Service was exceptional. The staff operated with precision, warmth, and genuine attention to detail. The rooms were flawless, immaculate cleanliness, luxury amenities, and a sense of quiet indulgence that is hard to find. Breakfast was elevated and generous, with refined options such as smoked salmon hash browns, a fresh omelet and waffle station, and beautifully prepared fresh fruits. Dining at the restaurant was equally impressive, particularly the perfectly executed burger and the classic prawn cocktail. La Playa is a rare address in Carmel, discreet, elegant, and timeless. If you value privacy, quality, and effortless luxury, this is the standard."

"Beautiful hotel from the outside in. Very charming and has lots to offer from pool to different rooms, great bar, warm cookies every night, breakfast buffet. Rooms: very nice and charming, I love the le labo soaps and shower amenities they smelled amazing, no complaints on the size, nightly water carafe’s brought to the room. My only con is the pillows were horrible and way too thin. Amenities: I loved the warm cookies, pool, and location of the property. The breakfast was only ok, pastries were not warm and did not feel fresh, the fruit was good though. For the price I do not feel that it was completely worth it. I would stay there again considering I feel they have the most to offer compared to other hotels in the area. There was also an amenity fee I was not aware of for $70 a night at the end."
